Irving
Irving is a vibrant community, ranging from Las Colinas; one of the Southwests premier business centers (Exxon, Fluor, Frito Lay, Kimberly Clark, Microsoft, Nokia, Verizon, Xerox and The Zale Corporation, etc.) to modern master planned communities of luxury homes, to older established neighborhoods of moderately priced homes. Irving is a home of young professionals, with 76% of the population under the age of 44. The City was founded in 1903 and incorporated in 1914. The median household income of Irving is $44,956.
The Citys growth is now focused to the north, specifically Las Colinas (including Hackberry Creek, Windsor Ridge and Cottonwood Valley, gated, golf course communities) and Valley Ranch (Home of the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL and former home of the Dallas Stars of the NHL). Irving is the annual host to the PGAs Byron Nelson Golf Tournament. Irving Independent School District has a reputation for excellence and high quality modern facilities. While the majority of students attend the Irving ISD schools, students in the northern part of the city will attend either Coppell ISD Schools or Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Schools.
